LFD Visits Ethiopia for Gospel Translation

December 11, 2017 | Latest News

LFD is working in Ethiopia with the Ethiopia Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus (EECMY), one of LFD’s Lutheran Church partners, to train teachers and interpreters who serve the Deaf Schools in Ethiopia to translate God’s Word into American Sign Language.

EECMY affiliate, Mr. Belachew Ensermu, who has many years of experience in project development and implementation, will be spearheading the project.

Rev. Thomas Dunseth, LFD’s Director of Deaf Ministry Educational and International Programs, traveled to Ethiopia to train Ensermu over several days, helping him to better understand Deaf culture and the way LFD plans and implements projects.
