The Church Interpreter Training Institute has been training interpreters for more than 30 years so that Deaf people can have access to the Word of God and the Body of Christ as it gathers together on Sundays or other times during the week for worship or church related activities.

Concepts to be explored during this workshop are: Interpreter as Theologian and the Trinitarian God Box. The workshop will consist of lecture/discussion as well as ‘hands on’ interpreting of texts in the university chapel.

Students will grow in their understanding of their role as a church interpreter and Biblical theologian; learn how to use the gloss of the materials for Biblical texts; and grow in their understanding and confidence in interpreting in a complex liturgical setting.

Attendees should bring a notebook and English translation of the Bible. Please also bring a brown bag lunch; snacks & water will be provided.

Please register by February 7th.
