Sign Language Camp is a terrific way for kids, ages 8 to 16, to learn American Sign Language (ASL) and have fun doing it! Our program is dedicated to teaching sign language to children with or without previous experience.
Camp is held Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Lunch, arts and crafts, a T-shirt and more are provided!
To ensure each child’s optimal learning experience, placements for campers will be determined by teachers on the first day of camp.
Campers will learn:
- Alphabet and Numbers
- Colors, food & Animal Signs
- Household & Family Signs
- Conversational ASL
- Deaf Culture
- How to Sign Songs
- Games Played in Sign Only (No Voice)
Other activities include:
- Theme Days
- Water Games
- Arts and Crafts
Sign Camp is really fun and I have amazing friends that I have made from going there for years. The Mill Neck school kids who are Deaf are really fun to interact with and sign with.
I have been a part of Sign Camp for 5 years, both as a camper and as a volunteer. I love Sign Camp because everyone has the chance to learn this beautiful language while having a really fun experience.
The events at Mill Neck are so much fun. The Sign Camp really takes the cake!
